First Day of College - Chapter 4

As the days drew nearer to Kaelin's fresh new start, it meant that she had less time to try to find someone to take care of Bear while she was gone. It was unfortunate, but in the welcoming letter she received from the university, pets weren't allowed on campus.

Surprisingly, she received a letter from the pet school in town. The letter stated that the school was taking in any pet for a small fee to stay and learn tricks and be taught discipline.

"That's perfect!" She said out loud, excited that she would have a spot for Bear to stay. The dog reacted with a happy 'woof', and Kaelin made plans to place him in the pet school. She realized that she would have to have a job to keep up payments, but the owners understood her dilemma, so they let her first payment go until she could find a job. 

Now, she was ready to go!

Kaelin arrived on campus around 10 a.m. and was excited to start her new adventure. She was able to rent out a house just outside the main campus. It had turned out for the best because she wasn't surrounded by students coming from the dorms and the neighbors pretty much kept to themselves as well. She realized that she had to find a part-time job soon, or she was going to have to scrounge around for change just to fill her belly. She noticed she was low on food when she made pancakes earlier that morning.

"Time to get settled in for a while.." Kaelin muttered as she stood on her porch that evening, looking out across the street. She smiled. Yeah, this was all going to work out just fine. Everything would be alright. Kaelin couldn't wait to start a fresh, new day.

That night, she got cozy with a book and slept peacefully.

What would await Kaelin when she officially started her classes? Will she make many friends? Will she be able to handle the crowded classrooms or the events that went on on campus? Or, will she finally meet that 'one true love' of hers?
